The home was in desperate need of updating. The clients wanted to bring warmth to the rooms in a transitional style with Asian sentiments. Built-ins were added to help with function along with more versatile furniture and layouts.
What started out as adding in some feature walls, became a redesign of the main floor. Our goal was to create a classic, elegant, and timeless style through new furniture, drapery and accessories.
Premise Design was brought in to provide floor plans for a basement development. That led to updating the main and second floor wall colour, purchasing new furniture and accessories as well as custom drapery. The clients wanted to make their home "grown-up" while still being child friendly.
This is home to a family who desired their city home to feel as though it was nestled in the mountains. Over the years, the job has grown to include the entire main floor, basement, master suite, exterior and even a fully-functional playhouse out back.
This house was purchased with the intent of renovating it to bring it in line with the other high-end homes in its area. The house was on the market for two days before selling in March 2009, high above the average selling period at that time.
To provide more space and function, the dining room and kitchen were merged to create an urban country kitchen.
To set rooms apart and provide a specific feel and style, custom drapes and pillows are perfect.
